“Inasmuch as scientists are regular people with a ‘need to win’ and a ‘determination to come out on top.’ But they are wrong to think that subjectivity compromised the scientific enterprise…to come out on top, you must follow the iron rule! — that solves science’s ‘problem of motivation.’”

— Joshua Rothman

Some individuals view science as a topic utilized to save lives and construct new ideas to better society. Assisting humanity is typically a scientist’s intention, but behind the scenes, there is a political agenda among many scientific research facilities. Various scientists conduct experiments looking for a specific agenda, searching exclusively for the evidence desired or sometimes forcing evidence to occur to skew the data to form wanted results. Science can house the ability to form the need for extraordinary attention to keep science important to society. While scientists gather new evidence from numerous experiments, there is a continuing buildup of information that is ready to be processed into specific studies. When the data is only chosen according to a certain agenda or outcome for the experiment, the remaining results from the experiment are classified as ‘false’ or ‘untrue’. True science does not allow choices to be made, whether to pursue an experiment relentlessly or to change the results. Experiments are conducted and data is recorded to the last measurable digit, even though that digit may be irrelevant.

Scientists who represent the differing findings often remove data from scientific results in hopes to persuade the experiment to yield a desired outcome. Science, in past years, were conducted of laboratories filled with experts all working together to find solutions to aid in the betterment of society. However, there has been a shift in the way science really works, today. Science has become ‘as important as the real thing’. Science is extremely important. It influences almost every aspect of an individual’s life in some way. When the outcomes of research and experiments are staged, there is less of a need to conduct full research experiments. Some scientists, today, invent new studies to sustain the success of the science industry. The scientific method has been overridden by the scientist coming up with his own experiments and finding the answer as quickly as possible; Hence, the reason shortcuts are taken to make sure the experiment yields the desired outcomes. A race for scientific discovery has overtaken the industry. Science has lost the basis of why it is important, to conduct studies through trial and error and to innovate and provide new forms for economic growth and safety in society. So, why is scientific research such a competitive industry in today’s time?
